Per Diem, Days, Evenings, and Saturday Mornings Main Function: Exhibits team building skills, process improvement, development of responsibilities, and promoting department efficiencies. Demonstrates skills in communication and prioritizing assignments. Develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with all system departments, referring physicians, and other health care professionals at Thompson Health. Exhibits time management skills and multi-tasking abilities to assure business components of the department are maintained at an efficient and effective level. Makes every effort to satisfy the needs of every customer in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Has a working knowledge of Mammography testing and understands the complex scheduling issues involved with timely and appropriate testing of patients. Lives the CARES values at all times. Required Job Specific Competencies: Provides support for the Mammography department through interaction and coordination with the Mammography technologists. Assists with safe transport and/or transfer of patients. Prepares scanning room between patients by wiping down equipment, changing linen, and attaching appropriate coil for the next scheduled exam. Provides full clerical support for the technologist in the form of telephone response, verifying patient demographic information, verifying Mammography screening form information, and obtaining prior testing information (lab results, previous imaging studies & results) as needed. Assists in and performs diverse tasks required to maintain an efficient and organized department. Qualifications: Prior patient care experience in a hospital or nursing home environment required. Associate degree and/or certification in a related field, or three years of experience in a related patient care setting required. 2 to 3 years of previous healthcare experience required. Prior Medical Imaging department experience preferred. Computer knowledge and skills including but not limited to the various McKesson Paragon applications and online digital imaging (PACS) preferred.
