Job Description:

This position reports to the Director of Imaging Services and is managed by the CT and MRI Coordinator. #It is responsible for transporting patients to and from the exam area using various modes of transport (hospital beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, etc.)# It assists and provides support to the technologist in the set-up, prep, and transition of exams, as instructed. #It possesses the ability to communicate in a professional manner with all levels of the health care system and customers.# The position has a basic understanding of all aspects of the Imaging department in order to offer basic support in all areas when necessary. Properly identify all patients prior to performing any patient service. Transports patients, equipment and supplies as requested to and from various areas on the Imaging Services department. Ensures patient safety during transport and assists in lifting and moving patients as requested. Effectively monitors and stocks needed supplies and materials to provide uninterrupted patient care. Effectively coordinates patient transitions with other departments to ensure the efficient flow of patients and information. Works directly with technologist to assist in exam workflow management. Utilizes computer system as required and maintains proficiency. Completes work in a timely manner and adjust to busy or stressful situations as presented. Adheres to all policies, procedures, rules and regulations of the department and hospital. High School Diploma or GED Computer skills Ability to communicate patient needs to the tech. Basic life Support (BLS)
