Who we are looking forState Street seeks to recruit a Technology Controls Assurance Program Managing Director to enable the transformation of the Technology estate across the enterprise to adopt a revamped risk and controls assurance program to drive the installment of the right level of policy and standards enforcement and monitoring. This candidate should be a proven leader who has experience in delivering outcomes with operational excellence and a focus on the customer and business needs. The candidate should have experience leading and executing a variety of technology risk and controls assurance programs against leading industry frameworks, preferably in highly regulated settings.This leader will have a broad range of responsibilities and will be responsible for the execution of the strategy and implementation of the recently implemented Cyber Assurance Program across the rest of the technology organization. Specifically, this leader will collaborate with each of the CIO's direct reports, as well as the second- and third-line partners, to establish a robust program of current state understanding of process and controls that can be leveraged to improve our risk management standing and drive clarity on current gaps.This role will report into the Senior Vice President, Head of Technology Controls Assurance.Due to the role requirements this job needs to be performed primarily in the office with some flex work opportunities available.This role will be primarily based in US (preferably Boston) and will consider candidates based in EMEA and APAC regions.What you will be responsible forPartner with the relevant functions and leaders to:•Review and enhance current standards based on authoritative sources to fulfill regulatory and client expectations•Review the end-to-end processes that are operating in the technology environment to assess effectiveness around supporting the standards, as well as reviewing the control effectiveness signals to measure overall process health•Partner with the enterprise risk management organization to identify the L3 risks that underpin the broader Technology Risk construct•Understand and document gaps against optimal process effectiveness and work with CIO directs to develop remediation actions or supporting strategic programs necessary to address gaps•Partner with the Head of Technology Risk and Regulatory Programs to ensure critical obligations are well integrated into the broader assurance program•Partner with the Head of Controls Testing, Design and Automation to ensure a coordinated and effective execution plan•Manage a set of diverse, senior stakeholders to ensure prioritization of critical items against a complex agenda•Build and manage a team of full-time and consulting resources to ensure effective execution as well as drive a culture of accountability, transparency and challengeWhat we value:•A smart, challenging and energetic leader, with a passion and deep understanding of program management across global organizations.•Extensive background leading and executing technology controls assurance programs against leading risk and controls frameworks•Deep understanding of risk assessment methodologies, and their application within the technology risk dimension•Need to understand the dynamics of large-scale transformation programs, preferably with an understanding of risk and regulatory positions for a global bank.•High intellect, decisiveness and the drive and flexibility to operate in a constant changing environment.•Ability to take data and input from others to foresee potential challenges; threats to the program or unintended circumstances and able to head off potential impacts as a result•Skills around being able to create structure in an unstructured white space environment and establish rigorous repeatable processes while shifting in an agile manner to address challenges that come up•Extensive, in-depth relevant experience in program management, including experience of leading multi-year, cross-functional or enterprise-wide programs•An exceptional understanding of standards-based program management and business analysis practices (Agile/Six-Sigma/Lean), with demonstrable skills in program and project management tools and methodologies•Strong project planning skills and expertise in large, complex program management, across multiple work-streams; releases and complex data migrations•Extensive background in executing change; understanding of the regulatory landscape and emerging themes•Capability to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control and close on multiple cross-organizational projects concurrently, working with multiple project teams; releases with extensive release management techniques•Build/deliver reporting to global executives and committees, chair of the appropriate governance forums, including frequent ad hoc, short notice, and tailored reporting demands including those to our global regulators•Ability to manage challenging stakeholders, delivery of difficult messages and pro-actively managing effective communication•Lead and influence global cross-functional teams whose priorities may not always align to the assigned project and reach a shared understanding to ensure progress is maintainedEducation & Preferred Qualifications•Minimum of 10+ years of related experience within the financial services industry including leading large-scale risk and controls assurance programs•Demonstrated experience managing complex transformation / remediation programs.•Strong understanding of process-based business management, and deep experience integrating risk and controls frameworks within business processes•Managed cross-border teams based over multiple locations, additional points for experience with strong connectivity to the regulators•Extensive experience in managing large, complex third parties, who are critical to the success of the program•Bachelors / Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Accounting, or related technical field or relevant work experience.•Exceptional communication skills and relationship management capabilities, able to communicate with all levels of the organization effectively and across Operations and Technology subject matter expertsAre you the right candidate?
