Classification / Reporting Structure Position Title: Technology Manager Reports to: President Department: Business and Product Development Classification: Exempt Summary DAC International designs and builds lathes, mills and other machinery that create contact lenses. The Technology Manager will be responsible for leading and developing the Engineering, Software Applications and Technical Services resources of the company in the design, development and service of new and existing products, as well as creating and testing product enhancements and product redesigns. Actively develop and implement revenue generating opportunities, working together with all internal and external customers. Evaluates the potential and practicality of products in development and relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Ensuring success is met through meeting or exceeding defined goals and objectives and helping to ensure the company delivers best-in-class products and services. Essential Responsibilities Works with upper management and product development team to create and implement plans and objectives for the product roadmap and strategies for growth. Works with all interested parties to identify and define specifications, analysis, test protocols, and statements of work, for existing product developments and new projects. Manages Product Development and Technical Service teams to ensure IT and Service projects are completed on time and up to company standards. Establishes project management and quality standards and methods that ensure on-time and in-scope delivery. Ensures technical support resources are correctly scheduled, allocated and communicated with all invested parties internal and external. Implement regular internal reporting standards and distribution on all projects, revenue-based activities and follow-ups to ensure full and complete knowledge sharing aimed at improving company quality of delivery and timeliness. Oversees the development of technical estimates, work plans, methodologies, and deliverables. Conducts skills assessments, training, and initiatives to develop the project delivery team. Monitors all project milestones and design of technical status reports. Ensures that risk is analyzed and mitigated for each project. Collaborate extensively with operations, applications, sales and technical support to improve process efficiencies and improve the quality of the company's products. Assess and report progress in meeting department objectives. Oversee and attend applicable events and conferences, as needed. Has deep and broad knowledge of electro-mechanical technology. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. The position is on-site/in-person. Remote hybrid work may be available by arrangement but not guaranteed. Travel Travel is primarily locally during the business day, although some out of the area travel and overnight may be expected.
