JOB SUMMARY
Works under the supervision of the Director of Technology Services or agency consultant, the Tier I Technician performs routine technological systems support, maintenance, and testing for proper upkeep of systems; troubleshoots and resolves basic system hardware, software, and network failures and conflicts. Works independently and prioritizes work to be completed, referring only non-routine and more complex trouble shooting tasks to the Tier II and Tier III Technicians as needed.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
Regulatory and Corporate Compliance
+ Attends mandatory training.
+ Follows security processes and procedures to comply with the requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Security Standards and HITECH.
Financial Management
+ This position has no budget responsibility, and ensures proper approvals are received to purchase needed hardware and software for the agency IT systems.
Person Centered Services
+ Respect the persons right to privacy and confidentiality by appropriate use of written and verbal communication.
+ Occasionally assist in the training of the people we support at the Arc as appropriate for working in an office setting.
Program/Service Management
+ I ncorporates the Agency's values and standards of conduct in the performance of all job duties.
+ Installs, configures, and upgrades operating systems and software at the end user level.
+ Installs, assembles, and configures computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals such as printers, scanners, and related hardware; pulls cables and rewires or directs the rewiring of cables as required for new installations and office reconfiguration.
+ Troubleshoots problems with computer systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software, e-mail, network, and peripheral equipment problems; makes repairs and corrections where required at the end user level.
+ Acts as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and data.
+ Maintains current knowledge of hardware, software and network technology and recommends modifications, as necessary.
+ Protects organizations value by keeping employee and sensitive information confidential.
+ Provides training and education on pc use and IT systems for agency personnel on a routine basis and as necessary for special projects.
+ Works with all departments and individual computer users to identify and prioritize problems, issues and needs and implements solutions expeditiously.
+ The person in this position has responsibility for routine maintenance of hardware and general education of users within the agency.
+ Follows department standard operating procedures.
+ Adheres to the Service Level Agreement as specified by department management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
+ Associate degree in computer science, information technology or a related field preferred.
+ 1-2 years of general computer installation, maintenance, and repair experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.
+ Solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts, which includes basic server terminology and ability to provide correct feedback to consulting service to assist them in troubleshooting problems. Knowledge in the areas of mobile devices and web-based services is imperative.
+ Possess a valid drivers license for the state in which the person resides and maintain a safe driving record per agency policy.
+ Have a vehicle to travel to sites and carry out computer installation, repair, maintenance, etc.
+ Able to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
