REPORTS TO: Chief School Technology Officer JOB GOAL: To provide assistance in the installation, repair, and maintenance of the computer and communications networks throughout the Muscle Shoals City School System. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform preventative maintenance on computers, servers, network equipment, software and peripherals.
- Repair and install computers, servers, network equipment, software, and peripherals.
- Maintain current knowledge of all instructional technology used in the school system.
- Aid teachers and administrators in the proper operation of computer based equipment.
- Provide hardware and software training of school staff.
- Maintain work orders and job related documentation.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, administrators, and others.
- Ensure adherence to good safety standards.
- Participate successfully in the training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency related to assignment.
- Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
- Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned by higher authority.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree in electronics or computer related field (or equivalent experience)
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software
- Knowledge of operating systems and Microsoft networking
- Ability to build, repair, and service a variety of technical equipment
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel. Terms of Employment:
- Compensation determined by current salary schedule
- 187, 189, or 240 day assignment
- Daily work hours shall be established based on system needs.
