Job Title: Technology Specialist

Qualifications:
* Degree in computer science or a related field is preferable.
* Professional certification (e.g. CCNS, CISSP, MCSE).
* Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
* Good communication ability, both written and verbal.
* Personable, professional demeanor.
* Working knowledge of relevant operating systems, software and programming.
* Keen attention to detail.
* Good organization, time management and prioritization.
* Efficient troubleshooting abilities.
Responsibilities:
* Belief in the mission and vision of the school and a commitment to support East Wake Academy in reaching and maintaining our mission and vision.
* Assists with identifying, acquiring, and maintaining hardware, software, and network products.
* Assists in the implementation of the system and building-level technology plans.
* Collaborates with teachers and other instructional staff to develop curriculum materials and specific lesson plans that integrate technology.
* Models the integration of technology in all curriculum areas.
* Facilitates school participation in technology programs and activities.
* Conducts staff development in the areas of technology integration, the North Carolina Computer/Technology Skills Curriculum, and the North Carolina Technology Competencies for Educators.
* Implements best practices related to technology use in the school program based on research, pilot programs, and state/national standards.
* Works with the principal and school leadership team to provide access to technology resources and services of the technology facilitator at point of need.
* Works with teachers in the selection of resources that are compatible with the school technology infrastructure.
* Assists with planning the design of the technology infrastructure so that information resources are continually available to the school community.
* Adheres to and communicates copyright as well as other laws and guidelines pertaining to the distribution and ethical use of all resources.
* Serves as the school contact for addressing hardware and software issues.
* Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications Knowledge of technologies available for use in instructional setting.
* Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation.
* Assist in the development of policies and procedures regarding technology issues.
* Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in the area of instructional technology.

The physical activity of this position.
* Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.
