Schuylkill Intermediate Unit 29 Technology SpecialistLocation: Mar Lin, PennsylvaniaMinimum Qualifications:Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Technology and/or Technical Certificate/Industry Certification. Bachelor's Degree preferred.Moderate knowledge in computers, hardware, software, and networks.Good verbal and written communication skills.Responsibilities:Provide Level 1, 2, and 3 technical support for computers, equipment, networks, and other technology services that enhance educational programs and administrative functions.Provide advanced help desk support, identify problems, troubleshoot, repair, and provide advice in technology-related services.Support and assist district, IU, and STC staff with procedural, hardware, software issues, and skills development services.Provide onsite technical support for districts as needed.Test, install, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, audio/video, server, network, and peripheral equipment issues.Deliver, unpack, configure, install and maintain computer, peripheral, network, server, and audio/video equipment.Maintain user accounts for various logins including G Suite, Microsoft, etc.Install software per procedures and vendor licensing agreements.Preview and evaluate hardware and software.Inform teachers, administrators, and support staff of appropriate emerging technology.Effectively use new and existing equipment and software.Recommend and implement security, hardware, and software enhancements.Maintain a professional, clean, orderly, and safe working environment.Assist the technology staff with issues related to current and future technology initiatives.Assist in organizing and executing technology events, in-service programs, and workshops.Assist in the development and maintenance of IU and STC websites.Support, install, configure, and maintain server-based services and equipment.Monitor server and network status, security and utilization, and initiate appropriate measures.Monitor system backup and archival functions for compliance with applicable policies, practices, and standards.Perform other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Technology Services.Reports To: Coordinator of Technology ServicesTerms of Employment: Employment shall be twelve (12) months per year. Salary and benefits will be established by the Board of Directors.Physical/Sensory Requirements: This position requires the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs. Verbal and hearing skills to communicate effectively and visual acuity to oversee projects are necessary.
