The Technology Support Analyst will work in a dynamic environment within the Durham County Sheriff's Office, supporting the data management and analysis needs of the agency. This role involves interaction with various departments to ensure data accuracy and safety. The position requires a meticulous eye for detail and a strong analytical mindset to interpret data effectively and contribute to strategic decision making.
Job Summary:
The Technology Support Analyst will support the data management and analysis needs of the Durham County Sheriff's Office. The role involves collecting, processing, and interpreting data to assist in decision-making processes and improve operational efficiency. This role will be pivotable in moving the agency into a data driven organization.
Examples of Work:
* Designing database schemas and setting up new databases.
* Creating and maintaining documentation for database procedures and policies.
* Analyzing data trends to assist in strategic planning and resource allocation.
* Conducting a thorough data quality assessment to ensure the accuracy of reports.
* Supporting data migration projects, including data transformation and cleaning.
* Creating customized dashboards for reporting to Executive staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collect, organize, and interpret statistical information to make it usable for accurate reporting.
* Resolving database issues and errors.
* Assists with management of local SQL databases, creating Power BI dashboards and implementing SharePoint team sites.
* Implementing performance tuning measures to improve query response times.
* Assist in designing and maintaining data systems and databases.
* Perform data cleaning, validation, and preprocessing.
* Conduct statistical analysis using data sets for targeted campaigns.
* Create data reports using visualization techniques.
* Identify trends and patterns in complex data sets.
* Collaborate with teams and managers to identify business needs and data requirements.
* Assist in database design and maintenance.
* Support the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements.
Requirements:
* Requires an associate's degree in computer science or four years of experience in a technical environment.
* Expert knowledge of SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred:
* Preferred experience with Microsoft SQL Server
* Preferred experience with PowerBI and SSRS.
* Preferred experience with Microsoft Power Automation and SharePoint Administration.
* Preferred experience with FTPs and SFTPs
