Job Description
Position Title: Technology Support Technician
Position Type: Annual Salary $38,668.00 / Non-Exempt
Position Hours: Full-time; Monday - Friday; 40 Hours per Week
Reports to: Technology Director
Length of Term/Employment: 230 workdays / At-will
Position Mission: Provides technical assistance and training to employees and staff by performing the following duties.
Position Minimum Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
* Two year certificate from college or technical school; or Three year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CompTIA A+ Certificate.
Job Duties:
* Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide client support and technical issue resolution via E-Mail, phone and other electronic medium.
* Configuration of client's equipment to connect to the Information system via LAN/WAN.
* Configure local software to connect LAN resources and or Internet applications/servers.
* Provide training to clients in the use of the Information system and applications related to software.
* Obtain general understanding of OS and application operations related to district offered services.
* Identify and correct or advise, on operational issues in client computer systems.
* Provide Network hardware support for internal and external applications.
* Evaluate new support systems/application system requirements for implementation.
* Provide Level II Technical Support for software and network devices.
* Perform light lifting 25lbs.
* Perform creation of new accounts using district provide software tools.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

* Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
* Able to promptly answer support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications.
* Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized.
* Experience with hardware and software issues.
* Proficient in Internet related applications such as E-Mail clients, FTP clients and Web Browsers.
* Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
* Typing proficiency: 30-50 wpm.
* Language Skills:
* Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental/educational regulations.
* Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
* Ability to effectively present information, and respond to questions from groups of managers, staff, teachers, and the general public.
* Reasoning Ability:
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
* Computer Skills:
* To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of both PC and Mac OS; OS X 10.7 Server; Windows Server 2008; proficient networking skills; Active Directory; Open Directory; Internet software; Word Processing software; Programing Experience.
* Physical Demands:
* The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand and walk.
* The employee is occasionally required to move light to moderate equipment from building to building; load and or unload vehicles; pack and or unpack equipment.
