POSITION: Technology Training SpecialistSHIFT: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pmSALARY: $70,000-$75,000 + DOE w/Full Benefits PackageLOCATION: Fargo, North Dakota SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIESThe Information Technology Department provides technology tools and support to all employees of TrueNorth Steel and affiliated companies. As part of the IT team, the Technology Training Specialist will serve as the primary contact for technology-related training for both new and existing employees.This role is responsible for creating, maintaining, and distributing end user manuals, communications, knowledge articles and internal reference materials. This position will partner with the Director of Technology and other Leadership Team members to lead and support learning events, conduct research, produce resources and guidance, and facilitate ongoing knowledgebase development and engagement. The Technology Training Specialist is an integral part of the IT team, dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • First point of contact for user technology issues.
  • Perform new hire onboarding, introducing new users to applications and technology used by the company.
  • Coordinate training classes on new and existing IT products & services for TrueNorth Steel employees.
  • Provide one-on-one training and support as needed.
  • Create, maintain, and manage technology training videos and technical guides for TrueNorth Steel employees.
  • Assess opportunities for application and process improvement and communicate those to the team.
  • Responsible for internal support documentation for the IT helpdesk, as well as providing external end user documentation TrueNorth Steel employees.
  • Work closely with IT Team Members to stay updated on new technologies and system updates.
  • Project resource for IT and Corporate projects as needed.
  • Assist with Helpdesk support tickets as needed.
  • Embrace and demonstrate the qualities of the TrueNorth Steel Game Changer definition.
  • Prompt and dependable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALITIES
  • Strong technical and functional knowledge of the Microsoft365 application suite.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows 10 & 11.
  • Displays the highest level of customer service to all TrueNorth Steel staff.
  • Communication - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word and in writing clearly and concisely.
  • Organized - Possessing the trait of being organized or following a systematic method of performing a task.
  • Problem Solving - Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.
  • Team Player - Ability to work cooperatively with other people and subordinate personal interests in order to achieve a common goal.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in IT, Training or related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 2+ years previous experience in User support.
  • 1-2 years previous experience providing user training and documentation creation.
