Job Description:
  • Assist the Director of Education with the development of teen programming, activities and local resources for Club teens at all Fort Wayne sites and Grant County, specifically, STEAM and Workforce Readiness, and College Prep activities, resources, and partnerships.
  • Support and contribute to the mission, goals, and objectives of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne (BGCFW).
  • Assist the Director of Teen Programming with teen recruitment
  • Assist with the recruitment and supervision of Club members during career-based partnership
  • programming.
  • Assist with the implementation of the Teen Work-Based Learning Program at all Fort Wayne sites.
  • Assist with the supervision and training of minor employees and work-based learning members.
  • Contribute to positive teen member outcomes in Character & Leadership Development, Healthy Lifestyles, and Academic Success.
  • Provide teen programming designed to foster positive self-identity; education, employment, social,
  • emotional and cultural competencies; community and civic involvement; health and life skills and a
  • moral compass.
  • Provide training opportunities for employment, health, and life skills using needs-based and
  • interest-based assessments.
  • Recognize Club members for participation and achievement, and to reinforce positive behavior.
  • Serve as a positive adult role model at all Club events.
Requirements Desired Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum two years working with children and adolescents preferably in programs for teens.
  • Two years of post-secondary education in Human Services related fields.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services related fields.
  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Pass a criminal records background check, a fingerprint check, and a 10-panel drug screen.
  • Valid Driver's License and clear driving record.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, the Internet, and Social Media.
  • Ability to perform high school-level arithmetic calculations and reading comprehension.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid Certifications.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work, to program locations, Club events, and, activities such as meetings, classes, and workshops in and out of the area.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing using correct English.
