Group Intervention Worker, Psychosocial Support - Social Reintegration Service - Espadrille
- Awaken participants' innate emotional intelligence.
- Support and guide participants in their grief, highs and lows, either in an individual or group setting.
- Update progress notes on participants.
- Report on the participation progress made by clients who were directed to us by our partners.
- Participate in the promotion of our services with different partners and organizations working in the social rehabilitation sector.
- Work closely with detention professionals as well as your colleagues from other detention and community services to better support participants in their search of authenticity, dignity, and autonomy.Summary of the positionAre you passionate about the social reintegration of people with criminal records? Then come join our rapidly growing team!We are looking for a group intervention worker to support offenders in their social reintegration process by offering them a wide range of training focused on personal growth and the acquisition of social skills. Services are offered in French and English.Since 2001, the Espadrille Social Reintegration Service, under which the group intervention component falls, has assisted and supported adult offenders serving a sentence under provincial jurisdiction or people serving their sentence in the community to help them successfully reintegrate into society. The service uses different approaches, including choice theory, cognitive behavioural therapy, and systemic and humanistic approaches.Who are we looking for?
- Have a university degree in criminology, psychology, or another related field;
- Have at least two years of experience in helping relations with adults;
- Have excellent facilitation skills;
- Have good knowledge and understanding of the adult delinquent clientele and its specific problems (asset);
- Have confidence in your abilities and be ready to tackle challenges;
- Have excellent organizational skills and a good ability to adapt;
- Be available to work one evening per week: from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Downtown YMCA;
- Be available to work in two locations: the Rivi--re-des-Prairies detention facility and the Downtown YMCA;
- Be fluent in French and English;
- Have no criminal record in connection with employment.The benefits of working with us:
