Seeking a civil/structural engineer to join our expanding professional telecom services team. Prefer candidate reside in the greater Boston, New York City, or Philadelphia area. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 - 8 years of relevant structural telecom engineering. Experience in the forensic sector is also a plus and will be given special consideration. This remote role working from a home-based office requires local and regional travel. Prefer candidate possess Professional Engineer license in resident state. PRIMARY PURPOSE: To perform structural and civil engineering for wireless telecommunication infrastructure. To perform structural analysis and design of structures supporting telecommunication equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
* Performs structural analysis of towers, mounts and platforms, and water tanks and buildings for the addition and alteration of wireless telecommunication antennas and other equipment.
* Develops and reviews full construction drawing sets which include civil, structural, and electrical sheets working with drafters and other colleagues.
* Designs steel and fiberglass-reinforced plastic frames and platforms, tower and building upgrades, antenna support structures, tower and platform foundations
* Visits wireless communication sites on a weekly basis to collect field data, which will be used to prepare structural analysis reports and construction drawings.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
* Performs other duties as assigned.
* Supports the organization's quality program(s).
* Travels as required.
Education & Licensing
* Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an accredited college or university required.
* Engineer In training certification (EIT) required.
* Professional engineering license (PE) preferred.
* Experience Two (2) years of engineering experience in the wireless telecommunication industry as a civil / structural engineer or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
* Experience with AutoCAD and Mathcad required.
Skills & Knowledge
* TnxTower or Risa 3D software (or similar finite element software) knowledge and experience
* Knowledge of AutoCAD and Mathcad Knowledge of typical design documents; structural analysis reports and assessment letters, lease exhibits, zoning and construction drawings
* Knowledge of finite element modeling
* Knowledge of applicable planning, zoning codes and regulations affecting site development Basic understanding of wireless network components including small cells; antennas, radios, cabinets, and similar
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
* Analytical and interpretive skills Strong organizational skills Excellent interpersonal skills
* Ability to create and complete comprehensive, accurate and constructive written reports
* Ability to work in a team environment

As required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $88,000 - $120,000.
