Job Details
The Telephone Operator acts as primary public contact in performance of computerized telephone operator duties.
Responsibilities:
* Operate computerized telephone console; answer incoming calls; route calls to proper departments as needed
* Adhere to patient privacy policies at all times
* Enter changes/updates to shifts and on-call schedules as needed by phone or secure chat, contact interns and residents for outside calls, units and codes.
* Announce codes properly, notify fire department, police and appropriate hospital personnel, disaster drill and bomb threat drill.
* Assists concierge when needed
* Contacts Hospitalist Physicians for admissions and consults
Requirements:
* Knowledge of MS Office products (word, Outlook); strong communication skills and ability to multi-task.
* Must be able to remain calm in stressful situations
* Must be able to operate a telephone answering console (switchboard)
* High School Graduate or equivalent
* Typing necessary
* At least one year, console experience preferred.
* Strong computer skills required
* Knowledge of EPIC helpful
Salary Range
USD $21.00 - USD $24.00 /Hr.
