Description Hills Machinery Company Telephone Sales & Customer Service Representative Position Details & Responsibilities The position reports to the HMC Director of Sales. This is a revenue generating and customer retention role in the heavy construction equipment industry that is intended to generate substantial future organizational growth. In addition to machines, this will include extended warranty, service contracts and telematics subscription sales. This person will interact with the F&I Group, Inside Sales Team members and the Sales Force to achieve satisfactory results. Core Responsibilities:
  • Follow up on equipment and major parts or service sales to probe satisfaction and any additional needs.
  • Screen all inbound sales leads for quality and perform initial customer contacts.
    • If opportunity is viable. refer to the appropriate Sales Rep for follow-up and transaction closure.
    • Monitor progress to final resolution.
  • Initiate customer contact at opportune intervals for repeat machine sales or additional services
    • Loan or lease maturities
    • Warranty expirations
    • Special offer promotions
  • Utilize Sugar CRM as primary administrative and tracking tool; assist with Database management.
Key Success Metrics:
  • New sales lead conversion ratio is increasing.
  • Extended warranty sales on previously sold equipment are increasing.
  • Maintenance contracts on previously sold equipment are increasing.
  • Telematics subscriptions on previously sold equipment are increasing.
  • Customer satisfaction issues are brought to the forefront quickly and delegated for resolution.
Qualifications & Requirements include:
  • 5+ years relevant industry experience
  • Well-developed personal networking skills.
  • Strong oral presentation and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office business software and other common PC tools
  • BS/BA degree preferred
