This position is located in the following branch: East NorthportSummary:Supervises a teller line that processes a variety of financial transactions including check cashing, withdrawals, deposits, and loan payments. Assists tellers with more complex tasks, approves exception transactions, backs up tellers and performs teller duties as needed. Education/Experience:•High school education or GED required.•Minimum of 2 years teller experience required.Essential Skills:•Knowledge of applicable laws/regulations, branch machines/equipment•Microsoft Word and Excel required.•Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, mathematical, problem solving, multitasking and computer skills and detail orientation required.Job Responsibilities:•Supervises Tellers by assigning/monitoring work, assisting with questions, coordinating work schedules, participating in proving all Teller drawers, conducts recounts to resolve differences and, as needed, contacts members to advise them of account adjustments.•Approves checks within prescribed dollar limits, proofs, scans and packages checks at the end of each day, and ensures reports balance against actual counts. Validates Credit Union checks cashed in the branch and verifies reports against actual checks and online images.•Monitors/reports on ATM activity by verifying deposits and cash remaining in machines, computing totals and denominations withdrawn/deposited, and researching errors. •Debits/credits member accounts and waives fees as appropriate, releases or placing holds on funds and contacts members to advise them of issues. •Ensures the branch has an adequate supply of cash by monitoring cash on hand, placing orders within pre-approved guidelines and as needed, specifying denominations required, receiving and logging cash shipments, and adjusts the GL as appropriate. •Maintains accurate vault logs, reconciles the vault on a daily basis and researches issues. Inventories negotiable items (e.g., travelers, gift checks) and places orders as needed.•Coach and develop staff to ensure tellers are demonstrating expected behaviors by conducting observations and advising on areas of improvement.•Keeps abreast of and complies with Teachers' policies, procedures, guidelines and related laws/regulations, and ensures Tellers comply.•Keeps the Financial Services Assistant Manager informed of activities, conditions and issues, and assumes the responsibilities of the Assistant Manager in his/her absence. The good faith range for this position is $23.50 to $26.00 an hour. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs.
