ROLE TITLE: Coordinator, Corps Member Hiring (Temp) REPORTS TO: Director, Partnership Operations, Lauren Voelker APPLICATION DEADLINE: Friday, October 11, 2024 by 11:59 pm ET LOCATION: New York Region; The role is hybrid, and needs to be in the New York area (reasonable commutable distance) but will not be expected to be in-person 100% of the time. WHAT YOU'LL DO As the Temp Coordinator, Corps Member Hiring, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that operations related to hiring our incoming and current teachers (known as corps members or CMs) run efficiently and in alignment with team priorities. The role you will play is instrumental to our hiring process for our incoming 2025 New York corps members, ensuring consistency, coherency, and community across the region. TFA NY is committed to ensuring all corps members are hired at a school where they are wanted, needed, and can have the biggest impact. This role is a part of the Regional Impact team, which partners closely with the Connecticut-NYC Program Hub to ensure coherence across the CM experience in New York. You will work hand-in-hand with our New York regional team across all major components of our regional vision and commitment to our 2030 goals across the corps and alumni continuum. The primary responsibilities of this role are coordinating logistics on both the corps member-facing and staff-facing components of our process. This includes managing tasks such as survey creation, collecting and analyzing data, updating internal information systems, crafting communications for staff and corps members, and facilitating mock interviews. You'll also support our internal knowledge management, and work directly with our 12 leadership development coaches, to ensure they feel clear about their role in our hiring process. The ideal candidate for this role is organized, collaborative, relationship-driven, and passionate about developing their skills. You must be able to handle supporting multiple projects at once. WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR Hiring Operations and Logistics (85%)
  • Support management of TFA New York's general email inbox by responding to incoming corps member inquiries consistently and with vigor
  • Support in the creation of interventions and resources for corps members struggling with hiring
  • Assist in managing other staff (full- and part-time) and alumni to conduct interview prep sessions and engagements
  • Manage content on internal corps member and staff-facing sites, documents, and spreadsheets
  • Support Director, Partnership Operations in collection and review of corps member resumes, personal why videos, and hiring preferences
  • Update and maintain hiring materials such as partner school profiles, action item follow-ups, and reminders
  • Support data reporting deadlines: evaluating completeness of data entry, troubleshooting errors, tracking progress, and summarizing inputs
Knowledge Management (15%)
  • Ensure all hiring materials are well documented and stored within our Google Drive
  • Partner with our team to build resources that codify workstream best practices and project planning materials
  • Build materials such as PowerPoint decks or one-pagers to capture knowledge management best practices and present such practices to staff to educate them about the importance of and implementation of knowledge management approaches
YOUR EXPERIENCE Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications):
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 1-2 years of professional experience
  • Work Demands:
    • 4-5 hours per day, 4-5 days per week
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities at the same time, including creating strong project plans and executing them effectively
    • Ability to translate feedback and other data points into actionable solutions and plans
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively and consistently track tasks to meet goals, communicate progress to others, and follow through with execution plans

New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. The expected salary range for this role is set forth below. This range may be modified in the future. The salary for this role (which is based in New York City) is $27.50 per hour.
