Job Requirements The following are required:
A high school diploma or equivalent. Must be 18 years or older. Minimum of three years of experience within the past five years in the operation of motorized construction equipment. Work experience must evidence ability to perform required tasks. Knowledge of standard grounds maintenance practices. Must possess an Alaska driver's license. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. The following are preferred: Experience in snow removal and grounds maintenance. Ability to originate written reports. Essential Job Functions Removes snow and sand from Anchorage School District parking lots, fire lanes, loading docks, and driveways. Repairs and installs signs, fences, and playground equipment. Working collaboratively and professionally with others. Works within established safety procedures. Physical/Mental Demands The physical demands of this job require frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking and hearing. Specific visual abilities are also required. The employee is regularly required to reach with his/her hands and arms and occasionally lift items weighing less than 40 lbs. Additionally, the employee must be able to understand vague and implicit instructions, be able to readily recall facts and details, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure. The employee must have the ability to effectively manage the stress of working with students, parents, and other employees representing diverse cultures, personalities, and work styles in a dynamic work environment.
