INTERIM DIRECTOR OF DIVERSIONARY SERVICESReports to: Vice President of Addictions and Homeless Services or DelegateSupervisory Responsibilities: Supervision of Assistant Director of Diversionary Services, Clinical Director, and Nurse Manager and Supervision of Recovery Specialists
Job Summary: The Director of Diversionary Services sets the overall direction and provides on-site oversight while administering the day-to-day operations, including outreach, stakeholder relations, utilization review, fiscal/budget management, facilities management, compliance and improvement activities, and reporting. The Director of Diversionary Services contributes to Bay Cove's mission by ensuring that Diversionary Services are accessible, inviting, effective, and efficiently operated, thus making the services an ideal environment in which individuals can pursue their recovery goals.
Essential Job Functions (including but not limited to): - Collaborate with the entire multidisciplinary team in the provision of safe, respectful, compassionate, and trauma-responsive individualized medical, psychological, educational, and aftercare planning services.
- Engage in staff recruitment, interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, work assignment, supervision, progressive discipline, and performance evaluation in accordance with agency policy for all disciplines in conjunction with the direct manager of the discipline.
- Schedule shift, supervisory, and on-call coverage for all disciplines well in advance to ensure minimal staffing requirements are met and a supervisor is always on duty 24/7 and manage schedules, PTO requests, and timesheet approval according to agency policy.
- Collaborate in the development and administration of the program budget, ensuring sound fiscal management via direct oversight of purchasing, verification of invoice accuracy, preparation of check requests and credit card statements, close monitoring of service utilization, and implementation of corrective action when revenue and expenses do not align with agency objectives.
- Ensure service compliance with all federal and state regulatory mandates, accreditation standards, contractual agreements, reporting requirements, interagency reviews, and Bay Cove Human Services policies and procedures.
- Complete all quality-assurance activities as scheduled in the monthly tracking calendar and lead the team in quality improvement activities including identification and implementation of improvement plans.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Addictions & Homeless Services or Delegate, the Director of Operations, and program leadership to develop, review, and adjust program policies and procedures as needed.
- Conduct outreach and relationship building with Bay Cove and with community partners to facilitate referrals, ease care transitions, ensure continuity of care, and continuous collaboration and bring value-add relationships to the service.
- Responsively address employee, patient, and community concerns, complaints, and grievances, with support from supervisor as needed.
- Carry out the duties expected of clinical and direct care staff when staffing levels necessitate up to the point qualified to engage in that task based on skills, experience, and licensure.
- Provide crisis assessment, prevention, and needed intervention during scheduled hours and while on-call in nights and weekends as scheduled by providing on-call coverage on a rotating basis.

Essential Functions of Position (including but not limited to): - Recruit, build, and maintain a team of talented nurses and schedule nurses to ensure on-site 24/7 nursing coverage to support medication compliance and monitoring of symptoms.
- Manage all nursing operations, including the provision of quality of patient care.
- Participate in the training of unit staff regarding changes and updates of medical aspects of substance use, withdrawal management, and behavioral health diagnoses as they might affect patients and train all Nurses on all nursing policies, procedures, and practices ensure competency.
- Collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer, Medical Director, Psych Consultant, program leadership, and the Director of Operations to develop and revise policies, procedures, and clinical protocols for care of patients.
- Lead the nursing staff to work collaboratively with clinical and direct care staff to support the daily physical and health care needs of patients in the program and seamless transition to the next level of care.
- Monitor compliance with nursing and medication budget, including staffing, scheduling, productivity analysis, and supply costs.
- Participate in staff, supervision, and multidisciplinary meetings as well as in individual and group supervision, training, and professional development activities.
- Oversee the nurses' responsibilities in utilization review and work collaboratively with the Billing Assistant and insurance reviewers in utilization review procedures.
- Adhere to DEA and all state and federal regulations regarding the use of controlled substances in the program and be available for DEA and State representatives during site visits and other licensing or accreditation bodies.

Requirement description :
- 5 years experience managing a multidisciplinary program or service, including responsibilities in hiring, supervising, fiscal management, quality assurance and compliance, with at least
- 2 years of experience being in the behavioral health field.
- A master's degree in one of the following disciplines or a closely related field: clinical psychology, education-counseling, medicine, mental health, psychology, psychiatric nursing, rehabilitative counseling, or social work preferred.
- Licensure as a Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LMHC, LADC, LICSW, LCSW, etc.) preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of local, state, and federal funding sources for Substance Use Disorder treatment programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Substance Use Disorders system of care and related continuum of prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery support networks.
- A thorough understanding of Substance Use Disorders and co-occurring diagnoses, and a familiarity with the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria.
