BAE is seeking a highly motivated and talented Senior TEMPEST person to be part of a team performing TEMPEST testing and provide TEMPEST engineering recommendations to help ensure the security of our nation's systems and equipment. You'll get to work onsite with the customer, integrated into their team to ensure mission success. You will be responsible for developing procedures, plans, and the execution of various TEMPEST activities. This position requires deep knowledge in the TEMPEST field and be a Certified Tempest Professional (CTP-II). Test procedures and testing will be in accordance with current U.S. Government specifications and the National TEMPEST Standard. Support activities will include requirements capture and interpretation, design support, authoring control plans and qualification test procedures, overseeing qualification testing, capturing and analyzing qualification test data and results, and approving qualification test reports. Some travel may be required (minimal).

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • The candidate must be a Certified TEMPEST Professional (Level 2) with 10+ years' related work EMI experience
  • Experience conducting training and mentoring for aspiring CTP's (Level 1 and 2) and other data security specialist.
  • Experience with the development of TEMPEST Test Plans, Test Procedures, Test Reports, and review/approval of test reports.
  • Adept knowledge in the use of a broad array of test measurement and diagnostic equipment as well as today's state-of-the-art TEMPEST instrumentation and automated testing/analysis equipment. This includes lab detection system test equipment is in calibration and is operating correctly.
  • In-depth knowledge with signal acquisition methods, data exploitation techniques, and the methods used to contain such vulnerabilities to mitigate risks.
  • Expert knowledge in TEMPEST, Red/Black separation, Electrical Isolation, and Shielding Effectiveness Tests.
  • Strong signal analysis skills and TEMPEST design and modification experience.
  • Must be highly motivated and possess strong and effective oral/written communication and interpersonal/team skills to include sound briefing skills at all levels and forums. Also, one must be an effective multitasker, meet schedule commitments, and record and accurately communicate test results or test related concerns in reports for delivery to the government and industry organizations.
  • Experience in leading teams, supervision, and running programs. Which includes the ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
(Desired Skills/Experience/Certifications):
  • International Association for Radio, Telecommunications and Electromagnetics (iNARTE Certification)
  • TEMPEST Field Testing Basics Certification
  • Project Planning and Control Certification
  • Experience performing vulnerability assessments of Protected Distribution Systems, cryptographic equipment, wireless technologies, systems that process audio/video/RS232/RS422 serial data, Ethernet, VIOP, USB, and other modern and legacy signaling conventions.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of policy and procedures to support organizational protective measures. This also includes experience using risk management for mission related efforts (balancing security measures with operational requirements).
  • Sound knowledge with the Electromagnetic concepts (such as antenna theory, signal propagation, RF isolation, shielding, grounding, and filtering).
  • Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, or Industry lab-based testing environment experience as it relates to the TEMPEST arena.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Typical Education & Experience: A Bachelor's Engineering or Technology degree in related specialized technical area/field and have 10+ years of work experience in area/field or equivalent experience. CTP Level II certified is required.

Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $140690 - $239140 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
