Purpose

This position will assist the Director of External Relations and External Relations staff in the Office of the President with a multitude of important administrative tasks requiring accuracy and attention to detail. This is a position of special trust.

Responsibilities

* Daily functions of the position: Format, proofread, and print correspondence. Prepare packages and envelopes for large mailouts.

* Compile lists of information with a large volume for accurate record keeping. Assist with various administrative tasks related to performing arts and athletics.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and one year of experience at the Administrative Assistant level, or high school graduation or GED, and five years of clerical experience, including one year of experience at the Administrative Assistant level. Demonstrated attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in an environment with frequent interruptions. Ability to follow directions and learn new processes. Ability to work proactively with minimal supervision. Competency with Microsoft Suite. Professional demeanor. Extensive experience in a position that demonstrated advanced competency in direct customer service, problem-solving, or related job knowledge. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. Experience providing customer service. Professional experience in a university setting. Experience using DocuSign, Microsoft Suite, Qualtrics, and a CRM system. Demonstrated organizational ability and ability to work under pressure. Experience in identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner. Experience working in higher education or environment with a high level of confidentiality.

Driving Required

This job requires a class C operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three-year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).
