The Hiatt Career Center at Brandeis University is seeking a temporary Career Counselor and Employer Engagement staff member. This hybrid position offers flexible hours, ranging from 15 to 35 hours per week. On-campus hours will be required, with scheduling to be negotiated. As part of both the career counseling and external engagement teams, this role is vital in connecting career development with employer and alumni engagement. You will work directly with students and alumni, with a particular focus on those pursuing careers in business, consulting, and finance. Additionally, you will help support partnerships with employers, alumni, and industry professionals in these fields. This role reports jointly to the Associate Director of Career and the Associate Director of Engagement. At the Hiatt Career Center, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where students from all backgrounds, identities, and experiences feel supported in navigating their career paths. We provide resources and career counseling to a diverse student body, including students of color, first-generation students, students with disabilities, international students, and LGBTQ students.   • Bachelor's degree and 5 years' experience or a Master's degree with 1-3 years of experience in higher education, career services, human resources, recruiting, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working with diverse student populations.
  • Knowledge or experience in business, consulting, and finance industries.
  • Experience providing career counseling to undergraduate students and alumni, both in-person and online.
Work Environment Brandeis is a liberal arts college within a research university, offering a tight-knit and collaborative community. Hiatt Career Center staff work in a hybrid model, with flexible scheduling. Exact hours and duration of temporary role to be discussed. Salary: $30-$35 per hour.
