The Office of Energy and Sustainability, a division of Snohomish County Conservation and Natural Resources, is hiring four (4) temporary employees for the Energy & Weatherization Assistant I position for the Weatherization Program. In this role, you will use a wide range of administrative practices, as well as programmatic and administrative skills, to support and guide applicant, staff involvement in implementing the Weatherization Program and onsite distribution of weatherization equipment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills, be highly self-motivated, able to work collaboratively as part of a team, and have the ability to do a two-person lift of 50 lbs. multiple times a day.The Snohomish County Weatherization Program provides weatherization-related assistance to over 100 homes per year through many different methods, such as insulation, air sealing, duct work, heating repairs, safety repairs, and client education. We provide high-quality service to program participants to help improve the health and safety of their home and save money on their utility bills.   • Assists clients in person and on the telephone in correctly completing forms; reviews forms for accuracy; requests additional information as needed; calculates eligibility and answers questions regarding eligibility.
  • Answers telephone; respond to questions or routes calls to correct party.
  • Reviews client files to ensure that all documents are signed and completed per contract compliance.
  • Provides information and referral to Community Service Agencies.
  • Enters information on the computer in specialized format, including application, program or financial data.
  • Receives and routes incoming mail; may deliver mail to Post Office and maintain mail log.
  • STATEMENT OF OTHER JOB DUTIES
  • Provides client training in Energy Conservation.
  • Assists client in budget counseling.
  • Schedules phone interviews; assists elderly, handicapped and homebound clients with their eligibility.
  • Assists with appointment scheduling.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • Minimum QualificationsOne (1) year of experience in Energy/Weatherization programs performing a variety of office work, interviewing and computer experience; OR, any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities. LIHEAP Energy Assistance Program experience preferred. Must pass job related tests.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS LIHEAP Energy Assistance Program experience preferred.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS A valid Washington State Driver's License is required for employment.     SUPERVISION Employees receive direction from a technical Lead Energy & Weatherization Assistant III, and supervision from a Human Services Specialist III or administrator as assigned. Objectives, priorities and goals/deadlines are established by the supervisor.
