We anticipate the need for one or more Underground Helper(s) to be located at the Chestnut Service Center in Minneapolis, M. The rate of pay for this job classification is $27.63. This position will be posted for 10 working days from June 12, 2024 to June 26, 2024.
Job responsibilities (May include, but not limited to the following): Perform the duties of the Helper classification including pulling cable into the manhole/duct system and cleaning manholes and vaults. The person filling this position must be self-motivated, work well with others, and possess a positive attitude and commitment to work safely, provide quality customer service, create customer satisfaction and to work productively.
Bargaining and Non-Bargaining employees may apply for this position. The Company has sole right of selectivity.
This is a temporary position and doesn't guarantee employment beyond 6 months. This temporary position does not qualify for Union seniority or benefits.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent, obtained prior to start date
Must meet driver qualification requirements, including the possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A.
Must have ability to be respirator qualified and confined space trained.
Special Requirements:
Experience with underground manholes and ducts preferred.
Must be physically capable of performing the requirements of the classification such as climbing, shoveling, lifting, bending, twisting, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be available for emergency call-outs for overtime assignments.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have the ability to follow work direction for the assigned work activities.
Must be self-motivated and possess a positive attitude.
Demonstrated commitment to work productively and safely.
