Temporary Legal Research AnalystEmployment Type: Full-Time, Temporary (6 months)Location: Remote (Must be available to work West Coast hours)Position Description: Accufile is seeking a temporary legal research analyst to provide legal and business research, and support services for our client, an AmLaw 200 law firm . The right candidate will have the knowledge and experience to conduct simple to moderately complex research assignments, and the ability to prepare accurate and cost-effective research reports related to state and federal legislations, regulatory history, and client background checks. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research for attorneys and clients using a variety of electronic and print resources; summarize findings for attorney review
- Retrieve and deliver case laws, articles and other reference materials
- Collaborate with the Business Development Team to compile client and business background reports
- Assist attorneys with reference searches for electronic and print resources
- Train new lawyers and staff on basic and advanced library processes and resources
- Bachelor's degree and at least three (3) years of related work experience; law firm experience preferred
- Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and regulations
- Working knowledge of legal and business research databases
- Experience with Intellectual Property and Employment Law, a plus
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
- Ability to work independently and under own direction and initiative
- Ability to learn new concepts and skills quickly
