East Central Energy is accepting applications for two (2) Temporary Line Technician Interns for summer 2025. This onsite, non-exempt (hourly), 1,000-hour temporary position is part of our bargaining unit and will be based at one of our operation centers and will start in April or May. Interns will work alongside ECE line technician crews to safely construct and maintain electric utility lines.Requirements•Graduation from vocational/technical school in power line studies•Must be at least 18 years of age.•Class A Commercial Driver's License•DOT Medical Examiner's Card•CPR CertificationKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities•Understand construction and maintenance of power lines to properly build and maintain the electrical distribution line.•Adhere to Rural Utilities Service, National Electrical Safety Code, and the cooperative's policies and procedures.•Understand hot line work.•Understand and apply RUS and NESC safety rules effectively.•Communicate clearly and professionally with line crews, ECE employees, and members.•Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills to complete responsibilities efficiently.•Uphold high standards of integrity and maintain confidentiality.•Perform arithmetic, algebraic and geometric calculations accurately.•Maintain CPR certification to prioritize safety.What's in it for you?•Join a culture of innovation, empowered decision-making, and accountability.•Add cooperative work experience to your resume.•Develop skills needed to further your knowledge and career as a lineman.The pay rate for a Temporary Line Technician Intern would be $38.42/hour.ECE is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
