Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit The primary purpose of Parking Operations and Campus Access Management (POCAM) is to effectively manage scarce parking and transportation resources for the University community and its visitors. The unit is responsible for planning, development, maintenance, and administration of all parking services, facilities, operations, transportation services, policy development, and alternative transportation services. The unit conducts planning and design of transportation services and facilities and infrastructure and is a liaison with other University departments, schools, and colleges, and represents the University's transportation policies and interests with local and state agencies.Position Summary This position enforces parking rules and regulations on the university campus. Work involves issuing parking citations to violators in a fair and consistent manner and maintaining a thorough knowledge of current rules and regulations. Employee communicates to the public with courtesy and respect providing information about parking on campus and assisting anyone with locating parking spaces and obtaining the required parking permits. The position will assist in reserving parking areas, preparing and placing signs, and greeting participants for departmental functions and special events. Employees will provide proper vehicle and equipment maintenance and will be responsible for the safekeeping of funds entrusted to their care.Minimum Qualifications HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENCY AND DEMONSTRATED POSSESSION OF THE COMPETENCIES NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE WORK. SOME POSITIONS MAY REQUIRE VALID N.C.
