Job Description
Basic Purpose
Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities involving law enforcement duties at a state agency, institution or facility. This will include conducting patrols in an assigned area or location to enforce laws and rules and provide protection for individuals and property within the assigned area of responsibility.
Typical Functions
* Patrol and inspect all assigned areas to prevent, deter or eliminate criminal activity and hazards to personnel and property. Ensure the integrity of all controlled areas on Tulsa ANG Base.
* Perform installation entry control; function as dispatcher, monitor alarms, record daily activities on the Security Desk Blotter. Greet visitors, receive and relay messages, answer inquires, furnish information and instructions.
* Enforce parking and traffic regulations, issue citations, write reports, safeguard and obtain evidence, apprehend and affect the arrest of violators, provide testimony in court actions.
* Respond to emergency situations and direct and assist Federal, State, County and Municipal law enforcement, fire protection, and medical agencies in the performance of their duties.
* Conduct investigations regarding possible, probable or actual illegal activities, hazardous situations and traffic accidents or other mishaps.
* Provide assistance to motorist whose vehicles are temporarily disabled or inoperative.
* Ramp light, securing buildings, and raising and lowering base flags.
* Support ANG Security Police Personnel in the performance of their Security and Law Enforcement functions.
* Participate in in-service training and attend specialty schools.

This is the career level of this job family where employees will be assigned responsibilities for performing a full range of law enforcement duties and will perform highly independent work in patrolling an assigned area and enforcing appropriate laws, rules and regulations to protect and safeguard lives and property within the area. Some responsibilities may also be assigned for providing training and assistance to others in performing these duties.
Education and Experience
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of six months of experience in security or law enforcement work or direct care of juveniles in a secure residential facility.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of routine police and security practices; of state and federal laws related to public safety and criminal conduct; of traffic control; of methods and techniques used in conducting investigations; of emergency response procedures; and of first aid techniques. Ability is required to follow oral and written instructions; to give clear and concise directions; to make oral and written reports; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; to effectively evaluate emergency situations; and to react quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
Special Requirements
Licenses/Certificates required: Hold a CLEET license
Conditions of Employment:
* Contingent on a favorable NCIC/OSBI background check
* Contingent on passing pre-employment drug & alcohol screening
* Able to obtain and maintain a T3/ANACI security clearance (eligibility for national security positions shall be granted only to persons who are U.S. citizens)
* Contingent on a passing a physical agility test (PAT) in required time limit, and be required to sign a PAT agreement. Minimum physical agility standards are as follows: (1) run 1.5 miles (2.41 km) in 17:30 minutes, (2) execute 21 pushups in two minutes, (3) execute 29 sit-ups in two minutes
* Contingent on a favorable medical exam
* Contingent upon a satisfactory outcome of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) test.
* Employee will be considered essential personnel (required to work during inclement weather)
* Shift work and working weekends
* Must maintain a valid driver's license
* Provide a copy of CLEET license
* Tobacco and Vape free environment
