DescriptionThe Temporary Senior Clinician is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Wediko NY's programming and all Mental Health Prevention and Intervention Programs at a grade school in Far Rockaway, Queens three days a week, eight hours a day, 24 hours per week. The salary range is $30-$34 an hour.The Senior Clinician position is a temporary position while an employee is out on leave. Position starts in middle/end of November and will run at least through March, end date to be determined. The Senior Clinician is on-site at the school 3 days a week and is responsible for provision of multi-tiered mental health programming support and services (at the universal and selective levels), and clinical consultation.The Senior Clinician is responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, and implementing the initiative's strategies, services, and resources in consultation with the principal and the School Leadership Team (SLT). The Senior Clinician liaises with the school, other Community Based Organization (CBO) partners and vendors, and city agencies on behalf of the initiative at the school level; participates in the development and manages the implementation of MHPIP plans consistent with the expectations of the principal.How You'll Be Making a DifferenceWork with key stakeholders in the community to learn and understand the history of partnerships and the unmet needs.Continue established services for current students receiving services.Use multiple means of gathering information from families, students, school staff, and partnering agencies, including surveys, individual interviews, focus groups, and meetings with the Senior Leadership Team.Use available data (including but not limited to: attendance, referral rates, follow-up rates, testing, and disciplinary referrals) to inform programming and interventions.The Senior Clinician will collaborate with the SLT to prioritize and develop primary, secondary, and tertiary goals to increase school engagement and success.Problem-solving and clinical consultation at the student, staff, family and school-wide level.QualificationsAdvanced degree in Social Work (e.g., MSW)2-3 years' experience collaborating effectively with public schools and community-based organizations to improve the outcomes of at-risk students2-3 years' experience working within or managing programs serving youth and familiesSignificant experience with assets and needs analysis, community organizing, problem-solving, networking and developing relationships with private and public partners, program management and improving access to resources for students, parents, school staff and community membersStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to partner with school staff and work as a teamAbility to approach challenges in a supportive and creative mannerExcellent organizational skillsFlexible schedule and willingness to work school hours as well as some eveningsValuing DiversityWe are committed to excellence in diversity, equity, and inclusion, while simultaneously creating a culture that supports those values.
