Responsibilities

• Cleaning and sanitizingThese are essential elements of a food sanitation program. Cleaning removes dirt and food from a surface, while sanitizing reduces pathogens to safe levels.

• Cleaning as you goThis helps maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the day.

• HandwashingWashing hands after using the bathroom, touching anything dirty, or coming into contact with bare skin, dirty equipment, utensils, animals, or food waste is important.

• Deep cleaningThis involves:

• Emptying the fridge and freezer

• Taking cutlery and crockery out of drawers and cupboards to clean inside

• Polishing appliances

• Cleaning garbage bins regularlyKeeping garbage cans clean helps reduce the amount of pesticides and chemicals used in the community.

• Maintaining a clean and organized work environmentThis can be achieved by keeping a to-do list and checking off daily tasks upon completion.
