Currently there are five tennis court complexes in the City of Alameda.MISSION: The mission of the Alameda Recreation and Park Department is to provide programs to the community with trained staff. Staff must maintain facilities and help keep them neat and clean.WORK QUALITY: Staff are expected to perform quality work and to plan effectively and efficiently.FLEXIBILITY: Staff work hours vary due to Department needs (nights, weekends and holidays). Staff may be asked to perform work assignments outside their area of original employment.Examples of DutiesRECREATION SPECIALIST I (TENNIS/SPORTS INSTRUCTOR) ($19.27 - $23.43/hour)Instructors will create lessons for groups and individuals including kids and adults, may help set up, take down, store equipment, and perform other duties as required. Employment StandardsALL POSITIONS require current certification in American Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR and a recent T.B. Testprior to the beginning of the program or agree to get both as a condition of being hired. Must be age 16 or older by the time of employment to apply.SELECTION PROCESS: To be considered, candidates must submit a completed City of Alameda Job Application form online.
