The Metabolism Program and Department of Metabolism & Physiology at Moffitt Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, invites applications from outstanding scientists for a tenure-track position at the Assistant member level. We seek innovators to advance cancer metabolism focused studies that can integrate both foundational and clinical investigations as part of Moffitt's initiative to significantly expand its nationally and internationally recognized cancer programs.
The Department of Metabolism and Physiology focuses on the characterization of cancer-related processes in their native state using non-invasive techniques, including intravital microscopy, clinical grade imaging (PET/CT/MRI), in vivo stable isotope tracing, metabolic phenotyping, and ex vivo live microscopy and metabolomics. Research in the department investigates complex networks (metabolic, signaling) within living cells, complex cell-cell interactions within organoids or tumors, and complex interactions between tumor and stroma in experimental animals and human tumor tissue samples.

Position Highlights:
* Moffitt offers a competitive start up package and dedicated space in a highly interactive research environment on the Moffitt campus that houses faculty in the Department of Metabolism & Physiology.
* Collaborate with Department members to understand cancers as dynamic, evolving systems with complex tumor-host interactions, and to use this integrated understanding to identify novel therapeutic vulnerabilities.
Ideal Candidates:
* Develop an independent research program in Metabolism that complements the Department's existing strengths in on the characterization of cancer-related processes in their native state.
* Candidates with demonstrated strength in any area of metabolism will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates with research plans focused on tumor-host metabolic interactions, including diet, microbiome, cachexia, therapy, and other factors.
Credentials and Qualifications:
* The successful candidate should have a Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree, a strong track record of impactful science, and compelling plans for building a creative research program.
