Description The English Department at the University of North Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in fall 2025. The successful candidate will have expertise in Early Modern British Literature with the ability to teach courses in Shakespeare. Opportunities also exist for the candidate to contribute to department or department-affiliated minors including Black Studies, Creative Writing, and Restorative Justice. Competitive salary commensurate with degree, rank, and experience with a base salary range of $ 58,468-$63,468. The position will remain open until filled with candidate review to begin January 31, 2025. Essential Job Duties Duties will include a 4/4 full-time teaching load with the potential of course reduction for research (pending approval), in addition to advising, scholarship, and service, and other duties as designated. Teaching assignments may involve first-year composition, literature surveys, upper-level courses, and graduate courses. Minimum Qualifications A PhD in English or a related field in hand by the time of appointment is required. Teaching experience and evidence of publication or scholarly potential are required.
