General Information: The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) in the College of Health and Behavioral Studies (CHBS) at James Madison University (JMU) seeks a full-time, 10-month, tenure-track faculty member in Speech-Language Pathology at the rank of Assistant Professor. Preference will be given to candidates with research interests in one or more of the following areas: aphasia, cognitive communication disorders or other areas of adult communication and language. The desired start date is Fall semester, 2025. Duties and Responsibilities: * Teach graduate and undergraduate courses on aphasia, TBI, and other areas of adult language/communication/cognition * Run a program of independent scholarship with the potential for external research support * Engage in professional/scientific/community/university service * Mentor students in independent and collaborative research endeavors Qualifications: Required: o PhD in Speech-Language Pathology or related field o Record of or potential for excellent undergraduate- and graduate-level teaching o Demonstration of a clear research agenda and productivity commensurate with rank o Clear communication, adaptability, and collaboration skills, to effectively teach and mentor diverse groups of students Desired: o CCC-SLP Additional Posting Information: JMU CSD is comprised of a thriving and collegial faculty who serve nearly 350 undergraduate majors and 140 graduate students across multiple degree-granting academic programs ( including a Ph.D. program.
