Job Description:
The Department of Business, Aviation, and Construction Professions at Dutchess Community College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position in Accounting. This position has an expected start date in August 2025.
Responsibilities will include the following:
* Teaching undergraduate classes in Accounting;
* Preparation and management of classroom experiences and assessments to develop successful learning outcomes;
* Assisting students in achieving academic success; and
* Participation in college activities, including membership on shared governance committees.
Requirements:
Required qualifications:
* MBA or earned Master's degree in Accounting or a closely related field;
* Experience using MS Excel, Quickbooks, and/or similar accounting software packages on a regular basis;
* College-level teaching experience and/or work experience in the field of Accounting; and
* An appreciation for diversity of all types and how diversity impacts learning and instruction.
Preferred qualifications:
* Both college-level teaching experience and work experience in the field of Accounting;
* Current CPA license;
* Experience teaching community college students;
* An understanding and appreciation of the role of the community college in higher education;
* Demonstrated competencies in a variety of teaching methodologies and/or pedagogical approaches that reach a broad range of learners;
* The ability to teach a variety of courses in our Accounting degree program;
* Experience in using instructional technology in the classroom, online adaptations, and a willingness to adopt new and emerging technologies; and
* Demonstrated leadership abilities or experience to potentially become the Chairperson of the Accounting Programs.
Additional Information:
The Tenure Track Faculty - Accounting is a full-time, permanent position.
CLASSIFICATION / SALARY
Class: DUE / Faculty
Salary: $71,996 - $80,376 commensurate with experience and terminal degree.
