Tenure Track Faculty Position - University of California, Santa BarbaraOct 30, 2018The Department of Statistics and Applied Probability at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2019. The Department is looking for exceptional individuals with particular emphasis in the area of Statistics. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong research agenda related to data science, or applications of statistics in environmental science, neuroscience or computational methods.Responsibilities:
Teaching at undergraduate and/or graduate levels. Recruitment, supervision, and mentorship of graduate students. Participation in university service and professional activities. Development of an actively funded research program of the highest quality.Applicants must have completed all requirements for a PhD (or equivalent) except the dissertation, in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or Data Science related areas at the time of application. PhD expected by start date of the appointment. A demonstrated record of excellence in research, and a record of (or potential for) outstanding teaching are desired. Successful candidates will have a record of collaborative research, and will be able to leverage synergies within the Department of Statistics and Division.
