The Prince George's County Planning Department, part of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, is seeking a talented individual to support its facilities and administrative team.

Examples of Important Duties
* Assists with coordinating the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for events or meetings.
* Assists with ensuring that graphics for events are created and that wayfinding signs are posted in the building and the parking areas.
* Assists with managing the event calendars.
* Setting up AV equipment for meetings.
* Assists with handling the logistics of events.
* Assists with tracking and monitoring event costs.
* Conducting regular safety inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Monitoring Fire/AED equipment
* Updating emergency management plans and assisting with floor warden training and fire drills.
* Assists with the tracking of supplies and equipment, the disposal and sale process of assets and reporting when items need to be restocked.
* Assists with barcoding inventory/assets.
* Assists with ensuring that the mileage of all vehicles is tracked.
* Monitors and ensures regular vehicle maintenance and detailing schedule.
* Assists with printing and posting graphics.
* Creates tracking spreadsheets, etc.
* Assists the lead Administrative Assistant when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
* High school diploma or a Certificate of General Educational Development (GED).
* One (1) year of experience in administrative support and clerical work or customer service.
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, which together total 1 year.

Limited benefits are available for this position including medical and prescription at an employee cost of 65% of the monthly premium.Accrued leave of up to 75 hours annually can be earned.A portion of each holiday (11 days annually) is generally paid if eligibility criteria are met.
This position will have a contract duration of 12 months with the possibility of renewal anda maximum of 37.5 hours per week, with 7.5 hours per day required.
Core hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily but may be adjusted occasionally.

The M-NCPPC offers a competitive salary range of $38,176 to $67,609 (salary is commensurate with education and experience) at the Administrative Assistant I level.
