Job Description Terminal Manager As a terminal manager, you oversee transportation operations for a company. In this role, you may dispatch transit vehicles, direct employees at the terminal itself, and otherwise ensure your transportation network continues to function properly. Qualifications Minimum 3 years experience in the customs brokerage industry. Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) that is in good standing. Post-secondary education or equivalent. Strong knowledge of Customs Tariff, Explanatory Notes, General Rules of Interpretation, regulations, release initiatives, ACROSS/IID systems and ocean release processes. Knowledge and understanding of Trade Agreements. Experience with all modes of transportation, but ocean expertise is preferred. Experience with exporting would be a definite asset. Responsibilities Responsible for all aspects of the brokerage cycle, from creating the shipments, following up with customer, to billing the client for the brokerage services. Analyze shipment documentation to ensure it is complete and correct. Provide quality control over product databases, determining correct tariff classification, tariff treatment and ensuring all details are accurate. Answer communications and provide assistance to customers, drivers, Customs and/or other staff. After hours support may be required. Communicate with government agencies to ensure compliance and advise clients on regulations. Keep track and follow-up on dated entries. New account setup and onboarding. Other Requirements Attention to detail and accuracy is an absolute must. Must be a self-motivated individual who takes pride in delivering high quality work. Works well with people but also can work individually. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Well organized and able to work with minimal supervision. Strong computer skills. Export experience is an asset.
