Job Description:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Safely loads and unloads vessels, barges, rail cars, and trucks.
  • Conducts inventory, converting gross gauge numbers to net using API, temperature, and VCF.
  • Performs transloading operations: truck to truck, railcar to truck, and truck to railcar.
  • Gauges tanks, railcars, and trucks as required.
  • Performs regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on all equipment.
  • Safely operates movable equipment to load and unload materials and supplies.
  • Cleans job site, ensures all equipment, tools, and materials are returned to their proper place.
  • Completes 48 hours of training required by the USCG to become Dock PIC as a Dockman.
  • Participates in facility commissioning when required.
  • Participates in PHAs, PSSRs, design reviews, and P&ID reviews.
  • Completes facility log sheets and round sheets.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline related to the job.
  • Proficient in terminal operating management systems.
  • Proficient in P&ID review.
  • General working knowledge of JSAs, general work permits, and hot work permits.
  • Ability to train new operators.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Basic computer skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively with a team.
  • Ability to follow company policies and comply with company regulations.
  • Ability to follow strict safety protocols and procedures.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of related experience in terminal, pipeline, or marine operations required
  • General knowledge of equipment and maintenance of pumps, meters, truck loading rack, and dock facility preferred
  • Experience in leading others
  • Experience troubleshooting various issues with terminal operations
  • 2+ years of experience in Dearman DCS controls or similar controls
  • General knowledge of terminal reporting and V&P
Certifications:
  • Obtain and maintain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Card
Travel:Travel required locally or long-distance up to 20% of the time for work-related meetings and functions.Equipment:Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, resource materials and equipment, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to the position. Mental and Physical Demands:Regularly required to walk, stand, crawl, climb stairs and bend; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms over shoulder height; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Frequent pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, bending, balance, depth perception, repetitive arm/hand movements, eye-hand-foot coordination, manual dexterity (eye/hand coordination) finger dexterity, vision acuity (far/near) and hearing acuity. May be required to climb ladders and/or stairs more than 50 ft. and work in confined spaces. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.May be required to spend 50% or greater of time in an outdoor setting. Will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Maintain emotional control under stress, work with interruptions and deadlines.May work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Environmental Factors: May be exposed to biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.). Will work in or around industrial and construction settings, which may include working with chemicals, hazardous products, processes, and materials. Exposure to loud machinery, moving mechanical parts and adverse weather conditions. Gaseous risk exposure and occasional dangerous driving conditions.
