Summary/Objective: The primary role of the Territory Sales Representative is to prospect their designated territory for new customers and provide excellent customer service to existing customers. Our ideal candidate has a great attitude and has prior success in a customer-facing sales role. This candidate should also have great attention to detail, exceptional communication skills and take initiative. They should have knowledge of hardwood species and the lumber industry.
Responsibilities: - Prospecting for new Customers in the assigned Territory: New York and Long Island.
- Sales of J. Gibson McIlvain Lumber Company lumber and millwork products to existing and new Customers in the assigned Sales Territory.
- Sales of Ivan C. Dutterer Company, ICD, millwork products to existing and new Customers in the assigned Sales Territory.
- Providing excellent Customer Service to existing and new Customers in the Sales Territory.
- Maintaining and updating detailed Customer Lists for the Sales Territory, and providing Sales Reports required from Management.
- Participating in all scheduled Sales Meetings, both via remote and onsite as required.
- Proper use of and care of all Company issued equipment including Company vehicle, Laptop computer and software, Cell phone, Credit card, Customer lists, and Product lists.
- Meeting or exceeding all Sales goals and quotas per your job description and Territory Sales Plan.
Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in industry related field or related sales experience
- 2+ years sales experience in the lumber industry working with a software system like Epicor's Lumber Track
- Excellent math skills to determine measurements, board footage, lineal footage, and piece counts for accurate billing and data entry into software systems
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, primarily Word and Excel
- Computer skills with the ability to learn different software programs
- Ability to travel 25% of the time
- Must reside in New York or New Jersey
