Job Type Full-time Description Gooch & Housego is a world leader in the design and manufacture of customized photonics components for industrial, avionic, and medical OEMs. At our Fremont, CA Facility, we are looking for a motivated individual to work in a small team of Engineers, interacting closely with Product Design, Production and Maintenance to improve labor efficiency, and increase automation. Key duties will be to develop and support automation for monitoring, measuring and controlling throughout our facility, database integration of the automation, and analysis for statistical process control. We are looking for an individual with:

• Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computing, with 2 years of relevant experience (or equivalent)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Hands-on equipment integration experience
• Strong analytical thinking

Requirements Useful Skills/Experience:

• Python and SQL are required. LabView is a big plus.
• Database Design
• Hardware-Software Integration using common interfaces like RS-232, TCP, I2C and VXI11.
• Git and Linux
• Familiarity with RF equipment like Spectrum Analyzers, VNAs, Digital Oscilloscopes and Function Generators.
• PLC programming
• Statistical Process Control
• Lean Manufacturing and 6S
