And that's where you come in.New York, New York, United States of America (Hybrid)We are looking for a Test & Commissioning Manager to function as a key interface between customer logistics and the formal commissioning of project design in installation and test activities. You will provide on-going metrics in support of on-going project activities regarding issues and observations on site as well as identifying resource needs to meet the project demand.Additionally, you will sign installation and test assignments to test engineering staff as needed to meet project milestones; assess field reliability of troubleshooting, maintenance procedures in CBTC equipment such as vehicle and wayside systems, and other external tasks related to the overall CBTC system.Finally, the successful candidate will coordinate with the Project Manager on project items identified on site and coordinate with US Domain Deployment Leader on resource demands and staff allocation.Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the commissioning of CBTC equipment for vehicle and wayside systems as needed by the project
  • Must provide key performance indicators on a weekly/monthly basis of issues observed, analysis, and overall system health
  • Identify problems detected during tests and provide feedback of mitigation in conjunction with Project Design Authority and subsystem software lead
  • Provides direction to test team as required regarding issues observed in field
  • Plays a major role in the relevance and efficiency of tests with a significant long term impact on functional overall results
  • Provides technical support in all operational matters in the functionality of wayside subsystems
  • Works with diverse departments and becomes involved in all phases of design, integration, commissioning and support, specifically with interfaces between Project Design Authority and Systems Engineering Manager. Interaction with Software leads and ability to go into the code and discuss technical items required.
  • Assist the above positions with design related technical items, providing operational perspectives from site observations
  • Promotes customer relations / company credibility
  • Functions as the key customer interface for the project as needed
  • Investigate/Troubleshoot system anomalies through analysis of data files, design documentation and interaction with development departments
  • Provide summaries and detailing of test activities in the form of both informal and formal test reports
  • Identify areas of improvement in order to improve efficiency in field related communication to the technical team
  • Field Team Point of Contact with strong technological background for the execution of Integration and Test programs and resources to other engineers and technicians.
  • Identify problems and significantly improve/change/adapt existing methods, tools and techniques relative to the concerned perimeter.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 6-8+ years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Automatic Train Control systems concepts and principles as well as current existing signaling standards
  • Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills, both verbal and written, and good interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated fluency and understanding/comprehension in oral and written English
  • Field experience in a rail transit installation, test or support environment or similar technology application is of significance
  • Strong process orientation and discipline to ensure compliance with both Corporate and Customer procedures
  • Critical thinking, able to identify and implement better efficiencies and process improvements
  • Effective communication skills to interact professionally with all levels inside and outside the organization.
  • Flexibility to take on additional projects and adapt to changes in priorities
  • Extensive experience in managing multiple activities simultaneously including integration operations at the customer's site with a high level of autonomy
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Working knowledge of safety standards and practices required at project site
  • Experience in analysis of data and identifying trends and functional deficiencies based off of a system design
  • Experience in breaking down large amounts of data and concisely summarizing the observation strongly preferred
  • Experience in customer interaction and adapting of their processes
  • Working knowledge of Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) products with respect to installation support and testing a strong asset
  • Experience in Wireshark and Excel strongly recommended
  • Experience with DOORS or other requirement handling programs
  • Typically 2-3 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above
  • Strong Communication skills regarding technical items
The Company provides the following estimated compensation range and general description of benefits that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. The exact salary may vary depending on skill and experience, and the Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.Estimated Salary Range: $103,000 - $140,000 / yearThe Company provides an extensive benefits program for all full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week and their eligible dependents, including the following:
