Lead Test Development Analyst Reading Specialist The Evaluation Systems group of Pearson offers dynamic teacher licensing and performance assessment solutions. Our custom teacher licensure testing programs are aligned to state and national standards. We provide a wide variety of teacher licensure testing services such as test development, administration, and scoring. We work in a collaborative environment and are passionate about education. Overview: The Lead Test Development Analyst occupies a leadership position in our Test Development Services department. The Lead Test Development Analyst is responsible for planning and developing assessments and products for educator licensure of teachers of reading and reading specialists, as well as supporting development of assessments in related content areas. The Lead Test Development Analyst is also responsible for assuring the quality ofour reading assessments as an evaluation of the use of evidence-based aligned instruction aligned to the science of teaching reading. The Lead Test Development Analyst collaborates with our client services division in providing content expertise in the Science of Reading to provide innovative solutions to meet our clients' needs. This role reports to a Senior Test Development Analyst. This position is a remote position. PLEASE SUBMIT COVER LETTER WITH YOUR RESUME WHEN APPLYING Primary Responsibilities: Writes test questions for reading specialist, reading instruction (K-12), and related content assessments Edits test questions and other assessment materials produced by in-house staff and contractors Oversees the development of test objectives, test items, practice tests, study guides, and related products for reading specialist and general reading instruction tests and assigned test programs to ensure delivered products are of the highest quality Proactively stays apprised and knowledgeable of scientifically- and evidence-based reading research and developing state and national trends in reading instruction and evidence-based instructional practice. Creates assignments for in-house staff, contractors, and vendors; reviews submitted materials for quality and adherence to test program requirements; and provides feedback as needed Collaborates with our client services division and other departments to develop creative and innovative solutions to meet clients' needs and to address challenging situations Communicates knowledgably and clearly with clients and stakeholders in a variety of settings (e.g., phone calls, face-to-face meetings) Understands specific program contexts that surround assignments and their implications for test development activities Facilitates the review of test items and objectives with committees of education professionals in a variety of content areas Additional Responsibilities: Creates planning documents, organizes staff, oversees development activities, and coordinates project activities within and outside the department Uses and can integrate technological resources as management and development tools Travels on behalf of the company as needed, up to 15% Qualifications: A master's or doctorate degree in a field directly related to reading development and/or reading instruction with coursework and/or focus on scientifically based reading research (e.g., diagnosis and treatment of reading disability and/or dyslexia, applied linguistics, cognitive psychology) Successful experience working as a reading specialist and/or reading coach or reading intervention specialist in a public school setting, PreK12 Demonstrated knowledge of scientifically based reading research, beginning reading instruction, evidence-based instructional strategies to support diverse learners, reading assessments, and assessment practices Demonstrated experience in providing feedback, mentoring, and professional development Experience as a content developer for an educational publisher in the areas of reading instruction and reading assessment a plus Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and facilitation skills Demonstrated advanced writing, editorial, and research skills Proficiency with computers and software, including Microsoft Office Works well independently and in a collaborative team environment Experience organizing and prioritizing work, meeting deadlines with high quality work, and successfully handling complex situations Must be willing and able to accept constructive feedback and develop new skills Flexible and able to adapt to unexpected shifts in priorities What to expect from Pearson Did you know Pearson is one of the 10 most innovative education companies of 2022?
