Job Description:
In this position you will support the development of cost effective product test strategy in the effort to achieve a high-quality product that also facilitates the manufacturing process. Your main responsibility will be to do end of line functional testing on before shipping of outgoing products (forward looking cameras for vehicles) to make sure they are functioning as described. You will give stimulus and look for response. This is a very dynamic environment and they will train someone who has an understanding of basic EE principles, who is a problem solver and is an independent thinker who can think outside the box.Duties & responsibilities:You will be the primary engineer responsible for Final Functional Test for Driver Assist Systems and support the implementation/integration of test equipment into a manufacturing environment. You will need to have the capability to write test software (Visual C, C, C++, Visual Basic) to a good standard employing best practice principles ensuring integrity of the test system and product testing. You will be taught how to prepare test equipment quotations based on agreed test strategies and specifications and recommend method of sourcing of equipment - in-house design & build or contracted out.You will also need to produce test equipment specifications ensuring optimum test performance, minimum test times, commonality of design where possible while satisfying accuracy, reliability, maintainability, usability, flexibility requirements. You do not need design experience, but you will collaborate with Design Engineering, you will develop efficient and effective electrical test process and test specifications with due regard of failure/OE/Warranty data and 'lessons learned' on other products. You will also direct the design, build, and commission of process assembly and test equipment to standard company equipment designs and requirements. You will oversee and facilitate equipment suppliers in the preparation of technical equipment manual/design file to include equipment drawings, specifications, records of all major design decisions, test results and change requests/authority and so on. You will also maintain test equipment project timing plans, cost tracking etc. ensuring adherence to agreed cost and timing objectives. You will validate and obtain approval/sign-off of test equipment in accordance with department/company procedures and 'best practice' with documentation covering (as appropriate) - Calibration routines, Measurement System Analysis (MSA / R&R), Risk Assessment, Maintenance schedule, Recommended spares. You will establish and demonstrate test capability and First Time Test Yield - target 99%. Assist the Test Maintenance departments both in their day-to-day activities and training. Provide Customer support when required to address technical level discussions. They need someone who can champion projects that require cross functional cooperation and team building to meet project goals and meet deliverables and provide assistance in solving on unusual problems when required. This position also performs work that involves common types of planning, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment.
