Job Summary:

The Test Technician I is responsible for performing set ups, tests, calibrations or functionality of sensor assemblies, instruments or other manufactured products to ensure that they meet specifications and quality standards. This includes setting up and operating test equipment, collecting data, and verifying results against specifications. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of electronics and mechanical principles, and the ability to focus on repetitive level testing.

Essential Functions:

  • Set up and operate test equipment per operating instructions for different assembly types.
  • Capable of operating electronic test equipment and using hand tools.
  • Collect and Analyze data from test runs using defined software and identify non conformance to the specifications
  • Notify supervisors of any defects
  • Verify test equipment is functioning correctly.
  • Maintain test equipment, fixtures and supplies.
  • Follow all safety and standard operating and regulatory procedures.
  • Work with other team members and departments to ensure that all production deadlines are met.

Qualifications/Competencies:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience in manufacturing or testing or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and mechanical principles
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Read and understand procedures and work instructions.

Shift Availability:

  • 1st shift and 2nd shift available.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands:

  • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
  • Standing and sitting for long periods of time.
  • Repetitive motions, such as twisting, bending, and reaching.
  • Lifting and carrying heavy objects up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 70 lbs. with assistance.
  • Good eye hand coordination and dexterity.

Working Conditions:

  • The work is performed in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and fumes.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required upon request to meet manufacturing deadlines.
