Our Client:
Our client is a leading aerospace and defense contractor. This is a temporary position (W2 Only) in Stratford, CTand is an excellent opportunity for the right individual. The contract is expected to last approximately 1 year. With the opportunity to convert permanently. This role is on-site, so you should be comfortable commuting to Stratford.Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Static Testing:Perform static tests on materials to assess strength, durability, and elasticity per approved requests.
+ Specimen Preparation:Collect and prepare samples using a 12 wet saw and CNC precision grinder for exact tolerances.
+ Data Collection:Set up and operate data acquisition systems, monitor tests, and deliver reports as required by customers.
+ Equipment Maintenance:Ensure testing equipment is calibrated and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
+ Collaboration:Work with engineers, customers, and quality assurance teams to support testing processes.
+ Safety Compliance:Follow safety regulations and conduct Job Safety Analyses for new or non-standard tests.
+ Customer Support:Assist with research and explain test setups to customers.
+ Environmental Testing:Prepare and monitor specimens in environmental chambers and deliver results as requested.
Qualifications:
+ Experience in material testing, specimen preparation, or a related field.
+ Proficiency in operating a shop wet saw and CNC precision grinder.
+ Strong technical aptitude and ability to run and monitor data acquisition systems.
+ Attention to detail in maintaining and calibrating testing equipment.
+ Ability to follow safety procedures and work in a team environment.
+ Strong communication skills to collaborate with customers, engineers, and quality assurance teams.
+ Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices.
