Position: Test Technician

Shift: 2nd shift (Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat 5PM-3:30AM)
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Optical and Laser System Test Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining optical and laser systems used in various applications such as telecommunications, medical devices, or industrial equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and conduct tests on optical and laser systems according to established protocols and specificationsCalibrate and maintain testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliabilityIdentify and diagnose issues in optical and laser systemsAssist in the development and improvement of testing proceduresCollaborate with engineers and other technicians to resolve technical problemsMaintain accurate records of test results, equipment maintenance, and calibrationEnsure compliance with safety regulations and procedures when working with lasers and optical equipmentRequired Qualifications:
2+ years of experience working with optical and laser systemsStrong understanding of optics, photonics, and laser principlesProficiency in using various test equipment such as optical power meters, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopesExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to follow precise proceduresGood communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPreferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Photonics, Laser Technology, Electronics, or a related fieldCertification in laser safetyExperience with fiber optic systemsFamiliarity with quality control processes and standards (e.g., ISO 9001)Knowledge of data analysis software and basic programming skillsPhysical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 poundsVisual acuity to work with small components and read detailed measurementsManual dexterity for handling delicate optical componentsWork Environment:
Clean room or laboratory settingMay involve working with Class 3B and Class 4 lasers under controlled conditionsExact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
