Position: Testing Analyst Location: Albany, NY (Hybrid) Duration: 9-12+ months Contract JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Proficient in interpreting business requirements and adept at crafting precise, thorough test cases. Skilled in estimating, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing efforts.
- Regularly engage in and contribute to all scheduled business meetings.
- Create, implement, and run automation test scripts utilizing open-source tools.
- Automation Testing with Java Coding. Establish automation frameworks from the ground up for regression suite. Ensure comprehensive test automation coverage.
- Strong analytic ability to document and troubleshoot defects - Identify, record, document thoroughly and track defects.
- Perform extensive regression testing upon defect resolution.
- Analyze test results and produce comprehensive reports of findings & recommending actionable improvements.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, identifying inefficiencies and suggesting enhancements to products and processes.
- Develop and maintain quality standards and procedures in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts.
- Collaborate and Support UAT activities with business users.
- Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience working on complex projects with two (2) or more years in a leadership role as a Testing Analyst that includes preparing documentation, reviews, and approvals of test results from key stakeholders using industry standard methods.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of client focused quality assurance managing testing across multiple high-profile projects, with complex functional domains, within a matrix organization.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience developing test plans, test cases, tracking defects and developing automated tests, preferably in a software development environment.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience with tools such as Jira, Jira-related plug-ins or Application Lifecycle Management/Quality Center as the defect tracking and test planning tools.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in an HHS or DOH or State Projects.
- Experience working in Agile and Scrum methodologies on Iterations in SDLC.
- Experience with Accessibility Testing, Load Testing & Performance Testing.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills - Quick problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work independently.
- Mandatory to be 50% onsite in Albany, NY - no exception, Locals or relocation preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience with configuring automated testing using tools such as Selenium or Katalon Studio or related tools.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience leading and managing functional test planning and test execution activities with a focus on Health and Human Service domain.
- Bachelors/Master's degree with coursework in Information Technology, Business or Public Administration, Project Management and/or Communications.
