Job Description: Highly skilled and detail-oriented QA Testing Specialist with expertise in Telematics systems and Electric Vehicle (EV) technology. In this role, you will be responsible for testing and validating telematics features, EV systems, and ensuring the seamless integration of these systems with the broader automotive ecosystem. This position involves working closely with the development team, ensuring the quality and performance of connected car solutions, diagnostics, infotainment systems, Mobile App including wearable (iOS and Android) and vehicle software. Experience with client EV vehicles Leaf and Infiniti preferred. Key Responsibilities:
- Telematics and EV System Testing: Design and execute test cases related to telematics systems, including vehicle tracking, diagnostics, data communication, and EV-specific systems like battery management and charging interfaces.
- Functional and Regression Testing: Perform comprehensive functional, regression, and system-level testing for telematics software and EV components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Connected Car Features: Validate the functionality of telematics-related services such as real-time vehicle data, GPS navigation, driver behavior analysis, remote control features (lock/unlock, start/stop), Mobile and API Integration, API Testing and EV charging management.
- utomation: Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts to cover telematics systems, EV integration, and diagnostics. Improve automation frameworks for higher coverage.
- Compatibility Testing: Ensure the compatibility of the telematics systems across different EV models, operating systems, and hardware components, such as vehicle control units (VCU), onboard diagnostic units, and infotainment systems.
- Performance and Stress Testing: Conduct performance tests on telematics and EV systems under various conditions (e.g., high traffic, data loads, temperature variations) and document performance metrics for optimization.
- Data Validation: Verify the accuracy of telematics data transmitted between the vehicle and cloud, such as charging status, range, vehicle health reports, and ensure proper data integrity.
- Defect Identification and Reporting: Identify, document, and prioritize defects in the telematics or EV system, working with developers to reproduce, debug, and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with development, product management, and hardware teams to understand product requirements and provide insights for product improvements.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure that the telematics systems meet all relevant automotive standards, compliance, and cybersecurity protocols, especially with respect to EV systems and data transmission.
- Testing Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, results, and issues encountered during the testing process.
- Hardware configuration for Testing: Bench configurations, connected Services Enrollments and Activations, TCU installations for testing (requires some disassembly of vehicle interior), TCU authentications and activations, Software upgrades, some diagnostic triage and investigation experience.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications in software testing are preferred. Experience:
- 3-5 years of QA testing experience with a focus on telematics and automotive systems.
- 2+ years of experience testing Electric Vehicle systems or related technology.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of telematics systems, including GPS, vehicle-to-cloud communication, vehicle diagnostics, and remote control features.
- Experience with EV-specific systems like battery management, charging networks, and energy consumption tracking.
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, FlexRay) and telematics protocols (e.g., MQTT, OBD-II).
- Proficiency in automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium) and experience with test management software (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies, including functional, performance, and regression testing.
- Experience in data validation, particularly telematics data, including vehicle status, fault codes, and other telemetry data.
- Familiarity with Agile development practices and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
